This Art Deco set was made in 1930s but the movement is an old French movement from the 1800s. The Art Deco is an architectural and decorative arts style, popular from 1910-1940. Art Deco is characterised by highly stylised natural and geometric forms and ornaments, which are usually strongly symmetrical. Japy Freres company was set up in 1771 by Georges Frederick Japy (1749-1812)in Badevel France in the Village of Beaucourt, France.
