Description

Allegory of fidelity. Two putti a male and the other – which is very rare – female are on top of the composition, which is unfolding around the dial. The clock seems to float in clouds and is held up by the third putto. The mountains of clouds are decorated with roses, doves and quivers with love arrows. The raised wreath symbolizes the triumph of love and fidelity. Beautiful Bisque Clock with ormolu mounts. Bisque is unglazed, white ceramic ware that is hardfired, non-poreous and translucent.
