Very rare three piece Boulle set with candelabra’s. Named after Andre Charles Boulle who followed in his fathers footsteps and became a cabinetmaker. In 1672 he was appointed court artist and took up residence in the Louvre, the Royal Palace in Paris. He was the first artist allowed more than one artistique discipline because he needed more than one to complete his works of art. His workshop was famous for producing furniture with flower design sophisticately executed in marquetry (inlay) with wood, metal, natural shell and tusk.
