Description

Tea drinking was (and still is) a cherished tradition in Britain and a tea caddy was part of the ritual. Tea was extremely expensive in the 18th C and was hence kept locked in boxes or caddies. The term Caddy comes from the Malaysian word Kati, which was originally used in China as a measure of weight.
