Description
Arthur Pequegnat ‘Canadian Time’ Wall clock. Arthur Pequegnat came from Switzerland to Berlin, Ontario Canada in 1874. Around 1897 he built a factory in Berlin to manufacture bicycles! The town’s name was changed from Berlin to Kitchener in 1916 because of WWI. When that started to decline, he began in 1904 to convert part of his factory over to making clock movements. In 1920’s he set up his own small factory for case production in nearby Breslau. Arthur died in 1927 and relatives continued to operate the company until 1951.
