The Dutch Staart Clock, also known as the Tail Clock is often called a Friesland Clock because of the area of origin. They were made in the Friesland region of the Netherlands from about 1800-1880.
This clock has a rich history dating back many hundreds of years. It was traditionally used in Friesland as a kitchen clock.
The clock strikes at 15 minutes intervals with the hour struck on a large bell.
