Product Description

Arthur Pequegnat ‘Canadian Time’ wall clock, with 8-day movement in fumed oak finish and in good condition. Arthur Pequegnat came from Switzerland to Berlin, Ontario in 1874. The town’s name was changed from Berlin to Kitchener in 1916 because of WWI. Around 1897 he built a factory in Berlin to manufacture bicycles! When that started to decline, he began in 1904 to convert part of his factory over to making clock movements. In 1920’s he set up his own small factory for case production in nearby Beslau. The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Company. Arthur died in 1927 and relatives continued to operate the company until 1941.
